Excellent experience. Rooms are like a small apartment with ensuite bathroom and 2 queen beds. Separate living room has a sofa-bed. Unit comes with a full kitchen (fridge, stove, dishwasher, and microwave. Located Right in downtown Ottawa, so there's loads of stuff to do. Parking is also available @ $23/night...(very expensive) Continental breakfast buffet...nothing special. I would definitely recommend
So a lot of other people have made comments in various forums, so I will summarize here. This hotel is dated and is in serious need of a rehab. It's not like the place wasn't packed while I was there so cash flow does not appear to be a problem, so where are the rehab plans? Cost is the same as a newer hotel so that jabbed at me a bit. Nice location and within walking distance to the canal, attractions, and food. Front desk staff were nice. Breakfast buffet was chaos, but decent food.
Update: Nice rooms but older building. I was mistaken in an earlier review in saying the windows don't open. The windows open a small amount and the satellite sometimes goes out at awful times (as is common with satellite reception anywhere). Staff are very friendly and accommodating.
The hotel is old and need rehabilitation, when we arrived we expect to get a room with washing machine and dryer but apparently not all the rooms are as they in the pictures of the rooms. Anyway, the stuff was pretty cooperate and change our room the day after (thank you for that).There are arranging differences between the rooms, the second room was much more pleasant.Regarding the room, the towels are old and need to be replaced, all the electric devices, microwave, ovan, washing machine dryer and dishwasher are also old and not so pleasant to use.
While the rooms and furniture are dated, overall its in great shape and the rooms are very spacious. Plus the staff more than compensate for other issues. Will definitely consider for our next trip to Ottawa.
