We are repeat visitors to Fairouz, and it is, I would have to say, probably our best dining experience ever in Ottawa. Chef Walid blends together elements of Turkish, Lebanese and other middle eastern traditional recipes into contemporary dishes that are, at the same time, an extension of their origins but true to the fundamental elements of their authenticity. Everything is cooked to absolute perfection, and the presentation is exquisite. Pairing that with top-notch service, providing just the right amount of care and attention yet not verging on hovering, the experience is completed. We can't recommend this place enough. It is truly a gem in Ottawa!
My boyfriend and I went there and spent a good evening. We like the fresh baked naan so much and ordered for two extra times. It made us childishly compare with each other on whos naan is more perfectly round. We got the lamb as main dish, and we are totally satisfied about it. One complain I have is that I did not notice there are $45 chiefs-choice tasting menu starts from 4 persons on their website. I am sure it is somewhere, but probably a bit inconspicuous so I did not see it. We would bring two more friends to try this for our first time visiting if I know this previously, but since we only have two persons, we did not get the chance to try. Overall, it gets good food, decor, and service. We like it.
I choose this restaurant due to its interesting menu and the ratings. I couldn't have been happier. We order the pomegranate dip, kebab, salmon and for the main course the tuna (chefs special that day). Let me just say this : the flavors are there. I don't mean salt/pepper but rather a beautiful blend of spices in every bite. The dip is SO good....the kebab is the best my friend ever tasted (he has traveled so much that it is VERY hard to satisfy his taste buds). For the other plates I was happy but he was more impressed with the two entrees. The total was about 200$ including a few glasses of bubbles & cocktails. I think it's a decent price. Will definitely go again my next time in Ottawa.
Dined here a few nights ago, my favourite restaurant in the city. Beautiful atmosphere, incredible menu, friendly staff. Always a special treat coming here, will be back soon!
