I have been here multiple times and the food is fantastic. Maybe slice the tomatoes slightly thinner but other than that this place is damn near perfect if you're looking for veg food.Recently though I had an experience that was so good that I felt the need to leave a good review. On Monday Sept 3rd, we decided to sit on the rooftop patio, but unfortunately we happened to pick a day that had a few bees! My partner is very allergic to bees and thus very anxious of them. Of course, bees are not the restaurant's fault. We picked the rooftop patio knowing it was outside. The people working (some very nice women) attempted to help solve the problem by baiting the bees away with lemon slices (smart idea!), but unfortunately they wouldn't buzz off (ha!) and so we had to promptly pay our bill and leave as my partner's anxiety was starting to become a little too much for them.I just want to thank the staff for their professionalism and their genuine attempts to help! Our server looked so embarrassed/worried that this had happened and that we had to leave before finishing our food, but this was so not their fault and it was handled by everyone in the best way possible.Thank you Pure Kitchen!
I finally got to try Pure Kitchen after only hearing rave reviews. It did not disappoint. My mom and I had a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon and thankfully got a table right away. I wanted everything on the menu but ended up settling on the Fantastic bowl. The portion size was perfect (larger bowl) and all the ingredients were fresh and flavorful and worked so well together. The peanut sauce was so tasty. We split the chocolate raspberry tart for dessert which was rich and decadent but the tart berries were a nice balance. Service was friendly and quick. It's nice to enjoy a meal with healthy ingredients but still be so satisfying. Cannot wait to go back and try more!
RATED Recommended by friends, with other friends turning vegetarian and vegan over the last few years, and with a keen interest in healthy food, my daughter and I were eager to check out Pure Kitchen as her venue of choice to host about 15 people for her upcoming birthday. We had called ahead and were told that no reservations were necessary for groups under 5 people, but that finding a table would not prove a problem. We were therefore very surprised, after having been greeted with a chirpy and utterly impersonal "Hi, how's it going, guys?" by the hostess in the front, that she seemed at a loss when we answered that we would like to have dinner for two. As this obviously needed a consultation with higher ups, the hostess made for the back of the venue where many members of staff were waiting behind the bar or working in the kitchen. When the hostess came back, she apologized, saying that there were no tables available, but that we could wait for a table in the bar area on the right hand side of the restaurant over drinks and appetizers, only if we committed to a table in the dining room afterwards. Both my daughter and I were not welcome to have a look at the dining room area. When we asked whether we could eat in the bar area, we were told that this was not possible as they could not serve dinner there. I have to mention here that this area had been completely empty, besides a young woman trying out a chocolate cake (obviously not a drink or an appetizer). A managerial looking woman was called in to repeat the wording the hostess had offered earlier, upon which my daughter cleverly remarked that short of throwing us out, they did everything they could to get rid of us. As a management consultant and business adviser who helped set up businesses and who developed workshops on customer service, I was utterly perplexed and shocked at the way we were treated. Whether we were witness to the implementation of a business model created equal for everybody, or only for specific customers, maybe those who might not exactly fit the bill (I am a full-figured middle aged woman and my boyish-styled lesbian daughter uses a walker to get around), I did not care to find out. Other patrons, also greeted by the same chirpy "Hi, how's it going, guys?" by the same hostess, were quickly processed to the dining room area within the 5-7 minutes we spent in the establishment. As to ourselves, this would remain the only time we would ever set foot in Pure Kitchen. The loss is definitely not ours.
Absolute best vegan/vegetarian food in the city! The service is always top notch, the food is always fresh, flavourful, beautifully presented & the portion sizes are huge. I frequent both the new Kanata location and the Westboro location several times a week and each & every experience I have there is outstanding! The management is excellent & the staff are very attentive & friendly. Highly recommend :)
Lovely lunch with a friend on a Sunday. Service was friendly and I appreciate the variety on the menu. I am not a vegetarian but do enjoy alternative options- their Korean cauliflower wings were to die for! Presentation and taste were excellent of all the dishes we enjoyed. Job well done Pure Kitchen.
