This place has delicious food and generous portions. Would recommend to anyone visiting Ottawa or looking for a reliable breakfast/brunch restaurant. With every plate they serve fresh fruit, which is awesome, but if you don't want any just tell the server. Also go EARLY or expect a 15 to 45 minute wait, because people know it's good and will wait in line that long! Also some days they will hand out samples of their cinnamon buns to those waiting in line.
The best breakfast ever. Love love love this restaurant. The owner is great, very good customer service. The food was exceptional. Best cinnamon bun in the world. I am going back just to kidnap the owner, oh my he can cook. ;)
My second time there today and I was even more impressed than the first time. Great food and portion size. A little busy on the weekend but their amazing client service which starts from the point you get to their door makes up for it. Waiter Christian was the best! Possibly best service I have ever seen.
Food is amazing. It's fresh, innovative, and good quality. I've eaten here many times and would eat here more often were it not for the unbearable noise. The ceilings are low, the surfaces are hard and the sound bounces endlessly. Add to the cacophony a steady diet of classic rock played to be heard above the conversational din and you have a recipe for earache, headache, and heartache. I hate to say it but the food is worth the suffering. These talented restaurant owners could fill four times the space if they had it. In my dreams I'm in Baker Street Cafe, the music is Comfortably in the background, and I am carrying on a conversation with my breakfast partner, speaking, not shouting.
TL, DR: Delicious food, I recommend it but plan to wait.Breakfast (all-day until close in the early afternoon) and lunch starting late in the morning. Cinnamon bread/buns are very good. Small and busy restaurant, expect to wait to be seated. Nice cozy restaurant with an English rock ambiance (as in Baker Street in London). Expert staff although seemed a little off today. The bathrooms downstairs are not for the claustrophobic nor for the tall set.As for overall experience, I like it but I'm not sure it's worth the wait and trouble of parking in "downtown" Westboro since there are plenty of other great places in Ottawa.
