Rude, snappy attitude when I spoke to a receptionist on the phone on July 29th at 9:00 am. Must be the weekend staff. Weekend and evening staff in the mental health unit are more despicable, from my past experience. There appears to be a work ethic issue among some employees, but the weekday staff are AMAZING.
This is an amazing hospital. My nana has had seizures and they helped her stop the seizures. Well... after she had 36 of them. They did take great care of her. But! If you ever have an emergency stay away from the walk in emergency at this hospital. They have unreliable communication with one another. They dont have any self respect, they dont respect other and a few literally expect you to speak French. I will never go back there. I would rather travel 3 hours to the Peterborough hospital from Ottawa than the Montfort..
I had a good experience on a Sunday night at the emergency room. Everyone was nice and attentive, I waited about 2,5h to see a doctor. The doctor (nurse practitioner) took a lot of time to explain me everything and took me serious, even though there wasn't anything seriously wrong with me. The only thing I didn't like was that a guy in the waiting room was bleeding a lot and nobody cleaned up the floor even after an hour.
My mom was sent to Montfort by her care home. The doctors and nurses in the Emergency department were very attentive, kind to her and very respectful and helpful to me. I really appreciated their care.
I had managed to get a needle of sorts buried in my foot so deep I had to go to the hospital. All the staff were very professional and helpful. It probably took about 2-2 1/2 hours from start to finish, but that seems pretty quick to me. The doctor was great. Really can't say anything negative except for maybe the parking prices!
