This is a terrible store for customer service. Cashier was rude. Staff at online order booth stood around eating chips and chatting instead of helping , one even used greasy, chip fingers to touch my phone to see the bar code. Someone needs to take charge and teach customer service - it feels as if you're interrupting a private party.
I like Canadian Tire always. The staffs were very good there. One thing of Canadian tire is very good, you can just see the items in touch screen and easily can locate the item's location rather searching here and there. I bought a fan from there and one staff actually helped me a lot to find one.As it was going out of stock!!
I recently bought a generator on sale for $699 and 2 weeks later it was again on sale for $599.....$100 bucks less and so went back to see the manager and try to get a refund under the price guarantee and right away he says..."sorry cant do it your 6 days over the limit..." I told him I thought I was only maybe 2 days over at the most and since it was $100 I continued. he said " nope,,,our store policy is ONLY 10 DAYS for price guaratee ."( he could not show me anywhere in the store where that was stated ) So no way he would even consider even a partial refund,,so,,my last time at THAT store for sure.330 Coventry RoadOttawa, ON K1K 4S3I then went home and phoned Canadian Tire head office and before even giving her the full story the wonderful lady , without hesitation said they would send me a $100 gift card immediately and that as far as she knew the price guarantee is usually set at 14 days.Either way,,,,,,,that specific store,,,,NO MORE......but Canadian Tire Corporate came thru with bells on.
The staff was helpful once prompted. They don't come to see you to see if you need help; you have to find them. We missed the sale price by 1 day (bummer). Cashier was very friendly. When asked if they gave a veteran discount, they said there was a ton of paperwork to go through in a separate department. I couldn't just present my veteran card. Hence the 3 star rating. Would have given a 4 if it wasn't for that.
The best way to shop at Canadian tire is to look up stuff on their website first so that you know in what aisle to find everything, this way you can do a quick in and out. Which is great!What affected my experience is the fact that the self check out malfunctionned and that the attendant didn't really know what to do and really slowed down our check out time... Which defeats the purpose of not having to wait in line and check out on your own. Please fix your self check out and train your employees a bit more. Thanks!
