A large modern shopping centre in Ottawa, with several levels and a large food court. The shops range from pretty exclusive -Tiffanys - to normal chain stores. Choice is great and you can spend many an hour (and dollar!) there. Food court choice is great and very popular in a pleasant open area.
Nice place but definitely needs more access points. As a tourist, we took the bus and the roads in were jammed. Need guides at the top of the stairs directing people to their seats. He was sitting at the bottom of the stairs watching the concert and pointed to our seat area. A woman in the crowd directed us to the actual seating area.
They have a guest service where they provide free strollers if your kid requires one. Though the website says they may take $40 refundable deposit before giving you one, they actually took and kept my driver's license until I returned the stroller.There is a good variety of shops. Prices were okay when I went in Aug 2018. There is a good food court.
It is a great place to walk and shop. Very accessable to so many bus services from there. It is comparable to Eaton Center of Toronto but little smaller and of course seems cleaner. I do not know if they have staffs to help peoples but one day we were walking to find a place, the lady helped us to find it. She nicely explained how to go there. Till now, I am.impressed with this center.
Pros:The renovations made the place more presentable and clean.The food court is the only positive change.Cons:The place is now tailored to people who like brand names and who have a lot of money to spend. Unfortunately the place is not the most affordable. Everything is overpriced. Considering it's located near universities and low income housings/families, not the best store options or price to have.This also may be a North America problem, not necessarily just Rideau, but quality vs price is not very reasonable. But understandably the fact that the place is located in a very touristic area is what most likely led to the change to brand names.
