I am visiting Ottawa for a limited time and visited this diner twice for breakfast. Each time my wife and I shared one meal in addition to the breakfast special. It was a very good amount of food for the money. The sausage and ham were delicious, as were the home made beans and the bagels. We ordered the French toast off the brunch menu, which was excellent served with banana, bacon, and peanut butter. The yogurt parfait was a sweet winner as well. The coffee was flowing in unlimited quantities from very friendly and prompt servers. The diner also had an historic feel to it. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
When we lived in Ottawa we would have breakfast there at least once a week with our kids. It's a great diner. We love the pancakes, the French toast with bananas, the real maple syrup and the inexpensive cappuccinos. Great atmosphere and great wait staff here too. Definitely recommended for breakfast in Ottawa!
Always pleased every time I go. You cannot find better service in Ottawa. The wait staff have been there for YEARS - the food is always excellent and the tables are cleaned and filled with new guests within a couple of minutes. Very Impressed with my birthday brunch this year :)
This place is a great throwback to the 50s. I have eaten in the Elgin Street Diner or it's facsimile hundreds of times. The last time I was there I ordered a favorite: hamburger steak, a ton of fried onions, fresh cut fries, and brown gravy. I loved every greasy, salty bite. They also serve a great breakfast. Highly recommended for the experience.
Came 2 years ago and again tonight. Pricing was a little better than before on the drinks which was good. The food was very nice and a good portion. Enough variety that it can be tough to choose. Ryan was cool as our server. If you want a late night diner experience it's good.
